A Problem of Discovery.
A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER:
Hello, my name is Alden Sewall. For the last decade, my world has been built on data, metrics, and B2B sales. I’ve led teams and scaled software companies, obsessed with one thing: how businesses grow.
But as I walked through my own neighborhoods in New York, I realized that the most interesting businesses, the local boutiques, or the single shop owner, that is what gives our streets their soul.
They were being left behind by the very 'growth' systems I knew so well. World Boutique was born to bridge that gap.
The Honest Truth:
If I’m being honest, I’m not a fashion insider. I don’t claim to know what the next trend is. But I do know people, and I know how to listen. I started World Boutique because I realized it was too hard to find the stores everyone was talking about. I realized the 'discovery' experience was broken. So, I stopped looking at screens and started talking to owners. I sat in their shops and asked them why they started, what they loved about their neighborhood, and what kept them up at night.
The Universal Challenge:
Whether you’re selling data to a hedge fund or a hand-curated vintage coat in the West Village, the problem is the same: Getting the right person through the door. I saw incredible curators, people with vision and passion for what they do, who were being drowned out by algorithms that favor big-box retail. I realized that I could truly help the independent boutique.
My hope is that this will give the local shop owner a professional fighting chance.
